If you’re a person who identifies as Gen Z-er, chances are that cannabis has crossed your radar. Just because it’s legal in one state or country doesn’t mean it is everywhere around the world! The legality of cannabis varies by region so if you plan on traveling abroad and want to know what laws apply there, read through our #hempducation post.

USA

The legality of cannabis varies from state to state. Depending on where you live and either can be illegal or legal for recreational purposes or medicinal purposes That decision is up to the local government. Cannabis products are available at dispensaries in legalized markets, but only if you’re over 21 years old (minors cannot purchase these items). So far this year there are 19 states who have made recreational use of cannabis an option: Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Michigan, Vermont, Illinois, Arizona, Montana, New Jersey, South Dakota, New York, Virginia, New Mexico and Connecticut

Medical marijuana is now legal in 36 US states which means it can be sold to those who have certain documented conditions such as cancer or chronic pain with a prescription from their doctor.

“O Canada”

As of October 17th, 2018 cannabis is legal in Canada! This means that Canadians over 18 years old can partake without fear of criminal charges. For those under the age limit, possession limits vary depending on which province they reside in.

In just a few short months after legalization, more than two million people have joined what’s seen as an “emerging market. The Canadian government has been working hard on this legislation since Trudeau was elected Prime Minister in 2015 as a way to combat black market drug dealers and help people with addictions from getting drugs like fentanyl into their system.

There’s no doubt that there are many benefits to legalizing marijuana in Canada — not only does it helped reduce crime rates by curbing black market dealings while providing an economic opportunity through small businesses across the country, but also provides better access for those looking to stop smoking cigarettes or tobacco products altogether. Although they’re still restricted from accessing traditional banking services like loans due to ties with previous legalities before weed was legalized (cannabis being illegal), these new opportunities provide them easier means at starting up successful companies without having all day-to-day worries about finances standing between you

Viva Mexico!

Mexico is finally catching up to America’s legalization of Cannabis, and they’re doing it in a much more unique way.

Mexico has been making waves lately with the exemption for medical cannabis but now Mexico might be legalizing this plant on a recreational level At the moment there are limitations on what people can do with their personal plants at home without fear from police intervention or criminal charges, as long as you have your prescription card President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador was determined to legalize marijuana by 2020 and finally on June 29th 2021 Mexico’s Supreme Court decriminalized recreational use of cannabis. His goal for legalization stems were from wanting to lessen drug-related violence, addiction rates, as well as provide more opportunities in Mexico’s agricultural sector due to cannabis being a cash crop that could create jobs.

Millions of Americans are looking for natural and healthy ways to relieve their pain, anxiety, and other ailments. As a well-known substance, cannabis has been an interesting topic to study. However it has its downside as THC might result in side effects such as paranoia or anxiety attacks. When used recreationally, some people might argue that none of this matters because they want the high from them either way, but if you’re going into using medical alternatives then there’s no need to worry about any of those other negative aspects.

It’s time to legalize cannabis! The facts are clear: marijuana has medicinal purposes that could help millions if not billions of people around the world with chronic pain. Cannabis legalization would also be good for our economy because it would generate new jobs in retail sales and home caregiving while reducing law enforcement costs by freeing up police officers who can focus their attention elsewhere.
